Europe’s most prestigious Mixed Martial Arts organisation is coming to The Point Depot in Dublin on Saturday, May 26th 2007. Cage Rage is well known for putting on the best fight cards featuring Pride and UFC veterans and there’s sure to be a couple of big names on their first show in Ireland as well as featuring the best of Irish talent.

Ring of Truth 6 ‘The Road to the Cage’ will be held on Saturday, February 17th at the Ringside club. There will be elimination fights to select the top Irish fighters to fight on the Cage Rage show against top UK and European opposition.

Keep an eye on the www.cagerage.tv website for updates.

    onwards and upwards :D

    Hi John,

Since the next RINGS will be an elimination event will first timers be allowed to enter that part of the show or will they only be allowed fight other novices....

I ask this question just to clarify if total novices who will no doubt fight under semi pro rules will be allowed try out for the big show this summer...

Thanks for your time and more importantly thanks for getting an event of this size and repute to our little old emerald isle...

    Hi John,

    Since the next RINGS

just for clarification its not 'Rings', its Ring of Truth. 'Rings Ireland' is no longer running
I ask this question just to clarify if total novices who will no doubt fight under semi pro rules will be allowed try out for the big show this summer

no they won't. elimination fights will only be open to those who've earned a shot competing in RoT and UFR events over the past year

Thanks for your time and more importantly thanks for getting an event of this size and repute to our little old emerald isle...

thanks, i think this is really going to be a big step forward for MMA in Ireland. we've some top talent here with very strong teams like PBS, PCC, SBG et al and this is a great platform for them to get the international recognition they deserve :)

overriding. keep an eye out for Irish Fighter on Dec 1st for interview with me by Scott Kenna in 'MMA News' for more thorough explanation.

hopefully this can raise some of the excitement seen at bernard dunne's fight in the point. different course with a different horse and all but it would be good to see a load of people screaming and shouting.

congrats to all who were involved in putting this together

a few questions - obviously - when will tickets be available? and for the ROT6 show aswell (through mullen sports i presume)

secondly - will this be a cage rage contenders show or a 'full scale' cage rage event?

Is this gonna be a Cage Rage Contenders event or a proper Cage Rage

can you tell me what the difference is between them? ;)

From what I've see Contenders is a feeder show looking for upcoming talent while Cage Rage is the official show, with already worldwide established talent.

If it's Cage Rage contenders, then the card will be weak compared to a normal Cage Rage card, although the novelty of the Cage will still be cool.

lol most UFCs are 'weak' compared to a 'normal' cage rage

it'll be no surprize that the first irish cage rage show will have a much 'weaker' card in comparrison to a typical uk cage rage show. there just isn't the money (or interest!) in bringing over 'big' names....however there will be a couple of fights that wouldn't be out of place on any show around the world ;)

I've no doubt about it John ;)

Either way, I think this is a step in the right direction for irish mma and a nice springboard for some irish fighters.
