Real Player volume

Often, I have a Real Player file open while I've a Windows Media Player file open at the same time. However, if I want to leave the Real file running on mute and listen to the WMP file I can't, because changing the volume on Real Player affects the volume on Media Player.

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Probably just bad design of real player, in that it controls the master volume. Could try real alternative instead of real player, might not work for streamed media though(works on rte stream for me), changing direct sound settings might also be worth trying
