A friend at the Herald told me that Philip Reid (Irish Times) is bringing out a book on the Ryder Cup. I haven't seen it, but apparently it is getting rave reviews in the UK and US.

Hopefully the book, The Cup: How the 2006 Ryder Cup was Won, won't be just another coffee table book. Let's wait and see...

Philip's journalist colleague Dermot Gilleece has one out also.

    Brian Cox has another.

    Sure there's loads of them!

Got it from Easons on Saturday, and as I'm struck down with a cold, I spent much of Sunday reading it. Didn't even get to the papers.

This book is different from the ****e 'cofee table' books that came out before the tournament. It only deals with this years Cup, and the guy has obviously got a lot of inside info. Great little stories about the players and people like Tommy the Barber' encounter with Boris Becker. Cool pictures too.

That's my brothers sorted for Christmas.
