I have no b + w cartridge at the moment in my printer, only a colour one, can I stll make black and white prints ? hasn't worked until now, not sure if i can change this; any advice much appreciated.

Hey, usually printers with a colour cartridge but no black and white one, will print a black and white document, but use up your darker colours from your colour cartrdige. basically have a REAL dark brown instead of black.
you'll have to check out your printer settings, set it to colour, and print. hopefully that'll work for ya
