I recently lost my iPod (the horror) and am going to have to buy a new one. I was hoping to get a different MP3 player i.e. one with with a radio, voice recorder etc. However, I have a lot of music purchased from the iTunes store. Is there anyway to convert it to a more accessible format?

I'm not sure what format those are in as I dont use an ipod, but I got a load of files from a friend in M4A format from his ipod and used a program called Jhymn to convert them to MP3 format to use on my MP3 player.

iTunes itself lets you burn your music as either a music CD or an mp3 CD.

Jhymn only works with iTunes 6.0 or below. I've the latest iTunes. Are there any alternatives?

Didnt realise that, now that I look you are correct I have version 6.05. Shame really Jhymn is a deadly little program.

Not the ones you've bought. They have DRM on them which is why you can't. As was already suggested, burn them to CD then re-import them. Welcome to the joys of DRM.
