    Does anyone know if it's possible to tax the car for two months? It's up on 1st December and i'm going to Oz at end of january. just wondering if anyone can help....

    As far as I can remember the minimum is three months.

    Yep you can only tax it for either 3,6 or 12 months. Check out motortax.ie and you will find everything you need.

    You can tax it for 3 and put it off the road after 2, then get a refund (I think:confused: )

    only if its is scrapped can someone get a refund on road tax, e.g written off in a crash.

    They're hardly gonna deport ya from Oz now are they?

    PS - The Gardai afaik can only seize car if tax is out by 3months or more.

    How big is the car? Is this an issue about €23 of a €72 3 month tax?
