According to todays Sindo the Indo group through their solicitor Simon McAleese are planning to sue Britney "for attempting to fraudulently extort monetary damages following an article published in June which suggested that her marriage might be less than sound."

This could be a very interesting case indeed and well worth following.

Another IN&M press release being put out through their newspapers.

Interesting if anything happens, although I do wonder what costs were incurred (I mean, they probably just replied to the letter and it's not like they needed to hire a lawyer they didn't already have to do that).

Frankly it strikes me as a case of 'I told you so'.

Perhaps their marriage wasnt on the rocks when the initial story was published.

isn't this jst a counter suit, within the frame of britney's legal action...

Don't think so; no legal action has actually been initiated on either side, it was originally just a threat from someone representing Spears to the Sindo, and now they're throwing the threat back.

I'd be surprised if either threat came to fruition.

Prob wont hear anything further on the legal issues but no doubt the Indo will get a few more miles out of it.
