A normal SKy box needs a single, unique input from the dish.

When my sky+ was installed, a quad (4-way) LNB was attached to the dish and the single one discarded, and three of the outputs used leaving one free (1 for sky box, two for sky+ box). Presumably a third, normal sky box can be wired to this fourth output.

You do not need a new box to attach a new LNB, an LNB is a small piece of hardware on the dish. You do however need a new LNB to install a new Sky or Sky+ box to your existing dish if all you currently have is a single LNB. If you have a double LNB currently, you can install a new normal sky box without upgrading the LNB.

I think what you're asking really is can you run three TV's with Sky from a single dish, simply by upgrading the LNB.

Simple answer NO, complicated answer yes.

If you have one wire coming from the dish to the Sky box you currentyl have, you can split the output from the Sky box 3 ways and watch the same thing on 3 TV's - with 1 remote - not much use TBH.

Or you could upgrade the LNB and have 3 output wires to three boxes you bought yourself. You'll be luck to decode the free channels, and you won't be able to decode any of the sky channels without a new card.

What you need to do is call Sky. 0818 719 819.

If you want to view different things in different rooms you need a multiroom subscription, €15 per month extra per extra room.
If you want to record/pause live TV etc etc thats Sky+, another €15 per room.
Normal box is €69 once-oof, free installation, Sky+ €149 once off.

    Hope this helps. :/

    *gasp*

Or else without a subscription, addional satellite receivers just get the free channels (all BBC, ITV , Film4 etc ..)
