You can get a DVI - Composite adaptor, it's about 30e from Apple

If your TV is VGA then apple bundle a DVI-VGA adapter with the mini anyway.

Keep an eye out, as they have updated the macbooks to CoreDuo 2, you may want to wait and see if they upgrade the mini to coreduo 2 (as most on the macrumors formums suspect)...

Didnt they just update the minis a month or so ago? And processors can be popped in and out anyway :)

    but it's apple ;)

the mini is the only product left in the lineup with core-duo...

I think it's safe to assume apple will simply throw in core-duo2 as soon as stock of existing mini's is low enough to warrant the switch.

just wish they update the gma950 gpu on the mini & macbook though...

Yeah the minis were only updated in September but you just never know with Apple. I still think it's highly unlikely they'll be updated this side of Christmas... but I've long given up trying to guess Apple's product cycles.

It is the only thing holding the mini back really, but then can they really fit a dedicated graphics card in there, while keeping price and size down? I reckon I'll eventually go for a gaming Mac Pro to compliment my media-centre Mini.

Actually they could. The GPU has dedicated memory, it doesnt need dedicated space in a convential manner (it would still be grafted to the motherboard rather than seperate agp pci slot)

If there is room in a macbook pro for an X1600, there is room in a mini or macbook, and the wholesale cost of a 256mb X1600 is actually only just over $30....

I suspect this is more of a decision to force distinguish a devision between home light user and pro-consumer....

In fairness I have bought a macbook, imac core duo and macpro since beginning of they year, and the macbook can at least handle halflife2 which surprised me, so gaming is a possibility.. and they also now support pro-apps like Aperture on a macbook / mini so it's not the end of the world.

But it still would be nicer if they upgraded regardless....
