River Raise

    .25/.50

Villain has $60 and I cover. He is 65/13/2. Typical loose fish.

He limps UTG and next to act I make it $3 with 99. Folded back to him and he calls.

Flop is Q-3-4r. He checks and I bet $5. He calls.

    Turn a 7. Check. Check.

    River a 9.

He bets $4 into a $17 pot. I raise to $15 (bad?) he pushes.

    Should I call?

nasty spot, his most likely hand is QQQ, but you have to call anyway. He will have AA/AQ/small set/two pair a good % of the time, and hes an idiot so you can never put them on too tight a range. I would definitely raise the river.

Actually looking at the stacks I can see an argument for flat calling, also his line is either a monster or nothing. The difficulty is whats a monster to us is different to a loose fish.

I expect to be ahead 99% of the time here. I think you are shown QQ here almost never.

Sorry I thought he had raised preflop and not you, if you are beaten he probably has 56.

Everything seems standard enough, including a river call. It's a cold deck if he has 56. I think he has QQ almost never and I'm not folding a hidden third nuts very often.

He had 56. From the responses I don't feel so stupid for calling now. :)

I didn't so much as slam my mouse fuzz. I don't even recognise myself these days. there was a time when I'd have trashed my apartment. :)

    No problem with the call.
When he turned over 56, after your rant, I hope you composed yourself and added him to your buddy list and/or player notes
