Need BIOS chip

I need a bios chip for an Epox motherboard, the epoxstore.com sells in U.S, any local shops in ireland offer this service?

hmm, the chip on epoxstore is only $10 but they don't seem to offer shipping outside u.s
i emailed epox european sales to see if they can help..waiting for a reply.

the bios is fried.

if i can't get a chip, i suppose i'll have to get new board, but a chip would probably work out cheaper, if EPoX will ship one to me.

Did you try taking out the CMOS battery?

We offer the possibility to purchase a pre-flashed BIOS. For warranty issues your direct support is still to come from the place of purchase. If you need a BIOS you can purchase them directly from EPoX. Prices in Europe are including handling, shipping and tax.

BIOS: For any EPoX board not older then 2,5 years, pre-flashed: 14 Euro (The Netherlands Only) & 17.5 Euro for the rest of Europe.

How do you know the BIOS is fried?

i don't know for sure..but its just a black screen.

Did you try taking out the CMOS battery?

i will try this, but what difference would it make? i thought its purpose is just to save settings, keep time & date..etc

doesn't work.
guy at EPoX said he sent one to me today, so probably have it on tuesday/wednesday.
i'm a bit ..anxious to get it.

thing is, when i asked was it pre-flashed with latest firmware, like advertised on their website. he said something like, 'maybe not latest, but just flash it whenever you get it.'

which makes me think there might not be anything on the chip at all.
