You can buy a remote from ebay fairly cheap that will region free the NS76.
If you have a PC with IR port you can do it yourself or if you bring the player to Peats or a Sony centre thay might do it for a small fee if you ask nicely.
I bought mine region free from peats. Region free mod was free!!

You can also get a 4-in-1 or 6-in-1 remote from argos that will do the trick. Just make sure it has a dvd button and a magic button. There are instructions on how to do it over at avforums.com. Probably costs less than a single use remote and you can use it again.
