Network an external HDD

Any gadgets around that will do this? The HDD is a 300Gb Firewire/USB External HDD and I want to network it, without having it hooked up to a PC permanently. Any ideas?

there are linksys devices which have hd's in them, but also handles pluggin usb hd's into it....
