It would be cheaper for you to buy a closed face helmet and wear your normal glasses... ;)

At a very wild guess -
    "good" helmet - €200
    second visor - €25
Prescription sunglasses - €150 on their own or maybe part of a 2 for 1 deal???

Do you not have prescription sunglasses already?

Pity you didn't post this before I went to thee show last week. But I checked on the floorplan and one company came to mind. Eye Level Optical.

The top one for thier website is not working (at the moment), but no doubt you can e-mail for info on the bottom one?
Although I don't need gasses for driving, a few lads I know do, and they use safety glasses as an option. They are available clear or tinted. And they are normally large enough to fit over today's slim-fit glasses without any problem.
Any safety equipment outlet should be able to help you out.
Failing that trawl through the exhibitors list here http://www.motorcycleshow.co.uk/mci2006/exhibitors.shtml
There was more than one stand at the show advertising prescription eye wear for bikers.

I have sent that lad an e-mail with no reply as yet but i have been looking across the pond on the web and they can do it but with a heafty price tag.

A friend of mine works in Specsavers and mentioned that they can make prescription lenses for nannini goggles (www.nanninigoggles.com) but im not a big fan of those styles.

I prefer the open face as im not used to the lack of peripheral vision in the closed face ones and they didnt really fit my freakishly big head (apparently) cos even 2XL closed face was difficult to get on/off.

Tried using the open face visor but prefered it up most of the time so now im looking at the riding glasses. Yeah i know, Im trying too much too soon and not giving time to get used to anything but sure i might as well see what options i have.

Anyway from my research, i came across these if anyone is going down the same path.

Just a couple of thoughts, you probably already covered them though.
The links you posted are mainly for sunglasses. Do they do prescription lenses if they had the correct info, or are they just warehouses and not manufacturers?
If you got the frames you like from one of these other places, could your contact in SpecSavers get the proper lenses installed in the said frames?
If the full-face is not your style; flip front, open face with visor, or total open front (real old skool) seems to be your only choices left.
Flip front gives you the best of both worlds. Open for town riding, and full-face for those longer faster stretches.
Open face with visor is much the same as above, except there will be more wind intrusion at higher speeds even with the visor closed. You will, however, have the added bonus of keeping your peripheral vision with this style.
Total open face speaks for itself.
All depends on your own tastes.
Did you try any of the safety glasses (not those stupid looking goggles) over your own specs? They have a fairly good range in O'Sullivans on the Long Mile Road. I do believe that Radionics have some as well.
