I have just downloaded photos from my digital camera onto my computer. The problem is that it has put the files into the 'My Pictures' folder in millions of subflders corresponding to the date on which the photos were taken. i.e. All photos from 4/6/06 are in their own folder within the My Pictures folder.

What I want to do is liquidate them into one folder without having to go into each seperate subfolder and cutting and pasting the files. Is there an easier way?

What camera and software are you using? There is normally an option in the software that allows you to choose how/where you save the pictures.
If you have a card reader connected to your PC you could browse the cameras memory card and copy & paste the photos into whatever folder you like.

    Thats a pain,
If the solution outlined in the second post the easy way to get them into one folder is to search the my pictures folder for *.jpg(or whatever format they are in) cut and paste the results into the root of the my pictures folder. Delete all the subfolders.
That said the steps in the second post should bear fruit.

can you not do an advanced search from the start menu - Search ?

select My Pictures as the area your searching from, select the file format (pictures) and it should bring up all the pictures in every subfolder. Cut and paste them into another pre created new folder....

    I'm nearly sure that works!!

Thanks guys. I didn't want to go back and download them again because there are quite a few. It took quite a workaround to stop the fcuking software making subfolers but I got there in the end.
