I'm no expert but i doubt you'll have any problems installing the new firefox. Only takes a few seconds to install.

It might be worthwhile backing up your settings, bookmarks, etc before installing FF2 just in case something happens. If you google you'll find a few programs that do this for you (mozbackup is one that springs to mind). Then simply run the install program. You don't need to uninstall FF1.5 first or anything.

Most people will update with no issues, but there's always a small minority for any program that will have problems.

I have updated to Firefox 2 yesterday and it still has to grow on me, I don't really like the way the have appleised the tabs and they look almost glassy. The spell check is handy but it could do with an English-IE Dictionary rather than English-GB English-US etc. No crashes yet and it seems stable & secure to me. I also like the Latest Headlines that came pre-installed in the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder, They however have not loaded today.

Spelling and grammar-wise no(even if we emasculate it  ). Just the vernacular. On the subject of FF 2.0. Install was quick and easy although I had a few extensions in 1.5 that gave weird errors. Just uninstall the earlier version. To revert uninstall 2.0 and re-install old one.

I think you'll find that it's a spell checker and not a colloquial speech checker ;)

Anywho, the install should be quick and easy. Don't bother removing the old one as irlrobins said. Extensions from you previous version will automatically update (remove those that aren't yet supported by FF2.0) and all your data will remain.
