Should online poker platforms give you the option to "Raise to $7 blind UTG"?

it would signifigantly slow the game down

it's the second blind re-raise to $25 that could cause problems

    No.
EDIT: When I say no I mean, why 7? Unless its a PL game it would not make much sense, unless you could choose the amount. It would be too messy IMO
RE-EDIT: I'm in favour of maybe having a straddle option but again it would probably be too awkward as the whole table would have to agree unless you had specific straddling tables.

it annoys me when this happens and then 22 utg blind follows, these players should be playing higher limits, instead of recking the blind structure for the players who want to play the advertised structure

A live straddle would be fun on-line. Ask PKR? They are as close to real-life poker as you can get.

The "delay factor" may be huge though. So I'm not sure if this would work of be a pain in the buttt...

I have seen it happen more than once that someone announces "I'm going all-in next hand" by typing it in the chatbox and go all-in on their turn. This would work on all sites right now. Just announce "I'll raise to $7 blind" before cards are dealt and do so.

I know there is an argument to say that you can still raise it to 7 anyway regardless of your holding. This of course is not feasible as we all know that if you are playing blind and take a look at your cards then your cards are dead.

Has anybody tried sticking a post-it on their pc screen? I was thinking about it but I was afraid that the mess would be difficult to clean? Anybody with alternative suggestions?

Also, if it is the last hand of the night and you have made a nice profit you can do the blind raise and get ready to rake in the dough if you catch a premium hand. GAMBLE!!

    shocking etiquette imho

do the blind raise all night or not at all

I used to blind raise. I don't anymore. blind-raising is minus EV. However, playing on a table of blind-raisers is plus EV. However, straddling is ok as you still have an option.

On a serious level, sometimes I will throw in the odd blind €7 raise as the less aware players can automatically label you as a gambly maniac as a result. It is the kind of thing that sticks in their head!!

I always do it cause it annoys the student types

I've played quite a few games of HU blind. A lot of the times cards are irrelevant because not a lot hands go to a showdown. I try to play the player, pick up on betting sequences and mix it up myself. Cant say i made a profit doing this but it takes focus off your own cards and lets you fully concentrate on trying to put your opponent on a hand.

Its interesting to look back on the HH and see what you actually had and compare how you would have played it. Havent tried it in about a year though but it used to be fun!

I agree with rag2gar. If people want to introduce a straddle or a blind raise utg they should just play higher limits. There's a 1/2 NL game in the casino here now and it plays more like 3/6 because of people constantly raising (not neccessarily utg though). I mean 70%+ raising for 1 player in particular. The game is capped at a 200 buy-in so you end up playing almost every hand like you are shortstacked.
