Connect is refusing log on's again (at least for postgrads/staff)

You can read your email at

    imap.ucd.ie (staff and postgrads)
    studentmail.ucd.ie (undergrads)

by just going there with your web browser and logging into IMS Mail directly.

    :)

I can actually use the http://imap.ucd.ie address to access my email.

Its great now the whole page is devoted to the ol' email.

How about turning this into an unofficial UCD IT thread, where people can ask for help on all those areas that aren't covered on the website. Perhaps explicitly stating that it's not a howto on getting p2p working etc.

For example I can usually get skype working on the wireless network by putting garfunkel.ucd.ie port 8484 in under HTTPS proxy. Oh and I think skype 2 beta doesn't support proxies yet.

    Stuff like that...?

IMS Mail (aka what's under the hood on Connect) was down too for a while over the weekend so my other way of getting in probably wouldn't work either. i think college had a problem with net connectivity.

Well that doesn't make a difference. I couldn't view the page full stop. Anyway, seems to be working now.

Kids, use either the mail forwarding option in your UCD connect e-mail account settings to send everything to your regular gmail/hotmail/whatever, or simply change your e-mail address in Studentweb to your own normal address and you'll never have to deal with the pain the hole that's UCD connect again.
