Anyone out there know the best (and cheapest) place to pick up saddle bags for a Suzuki Marauder and how hard are they to put on ?
    Cheers,
    Gary

Right, if you want real leather top quality ones expect to pay in the region of €200+ (even on the web).
However, you can pick up reasonable quality ones much cheaper than this. Keep away from Bikeworld etc as they charge an arm and a leg for this sort of stuff.

I bought a pair of saddlebags in Clara markets for €100 and the guy threw in a matching tool roll as well for this. There's a bike stall there every Sunday morning - sells mostly helmets, bike clothes, gear etc (no bike parts afaik - recommend him highly).

I don't know what your location is, but Clara is about 1.45 hrs drive from Dublin (about 8 miles the far side of Tullamore).
There may be more stalls like this at other markets (Fairyhouse?).

Fitting them is piss easy. You just remove the seat (normally two bolts holding it on) and throw the saddlebags across the frame and refit the seat. Just be careful that the bags are not hanging too low and burn on the exhaust :D .

If you have the money you could buy a pair of saddlebag supports on ebay or somewhere for €30-40 (I'd guess). But the're not essential imo...

I got mine from www.madproducts.com they were around €250 with supports they're class because they have hard plastic inside so they keep their shape and they have fittings to make them permanent or quick release bags. You can fits loads of stuff into them tetris style too! :D here's a pic of them on my marauder.

I've not used the panniers but any other Oxford gear I had was crap

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Did you find some panniers? what price? and any links?
I'm looking for some myself, I'd like a set that have a hard exterior and not the leather look.

    how did your search go?

Is it not more of a bicycle product rather than motorbike? Not sure it could be integrated with motorbike panniers.

I see he's posted it in the bicycling forum as well. Whilst they're a decent job, not sure it would suit a BMX :D
