    Hi All,
Bought a dreambox 500c and tried to flas an image onto it.
It seemed to work properly but when the box rebooted there was nothing?
The green light just stayed on the box and nothing was on the screen.
I flashed the image from the dream site and put it back they way it was using the null modem and the dreamup software, it could talk to the box and the image seemed to load but when it was finished the screen was frozen where it asks you to choose Pal or NTSC. Anybody got any ideas, i reckon its fecked
and have emailed the place where I bought it.
Just thought I would try here aswell.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Sham.

was the remote able to select from the options>.. cause sounds to me like a legit flash and boot.

I messed up my 5620 a few times loading images.. it never booted to that stage and failed

No, the box seemed to freeze on the first menu you get (to choose PAL or NTSC) the green light stays constant and you can't do anything with the remote or you cant turn it off on the actual box. When u plug it out and then back on you get the same screen.

very strange.. all i recommend is that you try forcing a flash erase..

uoi may already know this.. but here it is anyway..

power off, wait a few secs, and then power on and immediately after doing this, press and hold the "channel up" button on the receiver itself. Keep it held until the display shows 9999 and the last 9 stops flashing.. it could be at least 20-30 seconds before this happens.

Then power cycle again, It should now boot with the installed image but with the user flash erased. If that fails, then try flashing the image again... worth a try.

cheers for the advice but there is only one button on the receiver box and thats the power button. I have emailed the company and they are going to sort something out for me.
    Thanks Again.
