high pings on eu server?

    hi,
    new to wow, is it common for high latencys on eu servers i mean like.. 300+?

    which server and which isp?
    I normally get anything between 30 and 150 on Arathor with NTL, so that does seem especially high...
    are you checking them in a busy area or out in the wild?

    I get different pings to different eu servers.
    One im currently on goes as low as 70ish but ive been on others with a 200ish ping. All depends where it is.

    Like what the rest said... depends on ISP and server. My usual ping to Kilrogg was around 80-90ms.

    It depends on your internet, what speed do you have?
    It also depends on how many are in the server you are playing on, usually their quite balanced. Usually

    i got 3mg broadband it was on the ravencrest server.. was getting pings 300+ when my normal ping to a site was 27

    Ravencrest has a reputation for being laggy...

    Alot of people are experiencing it.. something to do with their telia servers. Anyone else in ireland whos using EsatBT got a problem with it?

    Try the folloowing:

    -Make sure no downloads are on
    -Make sure no-one else in the house is doing anything major with the BB
    -Open the WoW ports (do a google)

    Haha, with their telia servers?

    Telia is a european broadband supplier. The problem is that WoW is bringing telia's infrastructure crumbling to the ground. In fact, as far as I know, Blizzard is planning on funding some of the infrastructure upgrades as people are constantly bitching about this massive source of lag, of which, blizzard has no power over.

    Though, I seriously doubt that would have any affect on a connection from Ireland.

    Also if you look at the tracert you can see that the problem for you actually happens at hop 6, still on the bt network. From this your problem is unlikely to be downloads in the background going on at your house, and really probably some problem on the bt network that you cant do anything about. You could try mailing them the tracert just incase they have some setting incorrect, or they could try routing around the problem, but it's unlikely they'll do anything.
