Ode To a Half Drank Beer

We are water, me in my chair, you in your glass spinning ‘round
The same water that last week was spanning the skies in a cloud.

The same water that was in the snow on the top of the far flung mountain,
The same water that was cooling beauty; in the square, by the fountain.

The same water that fell from the cheek of the sadly spurned lover,
The same water that’s in the river, as it flows from one place to another.

The same water that was present in every person who ever was,
The same water that says nothing, outliving all of us.

The same water that will someday carry us away,
The same water that washes over until nothing can remain.

The same water that will one day, wash right over me.
We are water you and I, we are all the same.
