    My knickers are wet in anticiptation, But as i have said from the outstart. I will hold off till next year to buy a dx10 card, Mainly on the fact that the corrent 8800 cards are on the 90nm process, And next year they move to 65mn. Buy this card, pah. Waste of money imho. When next year ( 2 months away ) there will be a cheaper, and much faster version out.

    But god look at the size of that heatsink. Goof luck to third party companys on designing a custom cooler for that beast.

    It is an extremely impressive piece of hardware in some of the benchmarks a single 8800GTX is as fast/faster than a dual X1950XTX Crossfire setup.

    The image quality is also great they have actually managed to wrestle the mantle from ATI and take the top spot with better AF & AA.

    The GPGPU through CUDA is also interesting making it a lot easier for other non-3D applications to harness the power of the GPU. A lot of cool stuff could come from that like for processing and video encoding etc.

    The architecture is also well suited to DX10 no skimping on any areas so I'm very eager to see what it can do once the drivers mature and Vista comes out. A very cool piece of tech there are already hints that more parts will be coming soon after Christmas in the lower end segments which will be very interesting in their own rite as well.

    There is a notable lack of SLI numbers in the reviews it seems NVIDIA's drivers are not yet stable in GeForce 8 SLI so they went ahead anyway but SLI support will probably be high on the list of things to get working ASAP, also one area that is slightly disappointing is that they didnt remove the limitation of SLI and multi-monitors so in effect you still need 3 GPU's in order to run 2 displays.

    VR-Zone have pictures of a Sparkle 8800GTX with Tek cooling, neat design I'm sure I saw that on a recently announced ATI card.

    NVIDIA have also updated their web site & posted some brief flash videos of unreleased (?) tech demo's that usually accompany the launch of a new generation.

    {On a side note the game linked to on NV's site World In Conflict is looking seriously cool & Massive are the makers of one of my favourite games Ground Control I just hope they don't muck it up like they did with GC-2.}

    edit: anti the VR-Zone link is working fine here don't no why it's not for you. The stock cooling system present is actually pretty effective and as quiet as the one found on the 7900GTX which is a good thing as well.

    Holy sh!t that Sparkle is MASSIVE -- is that a 3-slot cooler?? :eek:

    Yeah it takes 3 slots which is pretty big but it is a peltier cooler and supposedly you can still just about do SLI with the nForce 6 boards but it will be close.

    Can't see it being very popular when the stock cooler does a good job anyway so one for extreme overclockers only I think.
