Orthodontists in Dublin

After being finally told by the public healthcare that I wont be getting braces from them because my teeth arent "as bad as other cases",I have decided to get my teeth fixed privately.
I went to an orthadontist today and after examing my teeth he said that it would cost in the region of 5,500 euros for the treatment (braces, retainers, appointments etc). For 5,500 euros I would be expecting him to replace my teeth with platinum ones and unless thats the case, I probably won't be getting my teeth fixed by that particular orthadontist.
Could those of you that have gotten your teeth fixed by other orthadontists in Dublin at a reasonable price AND have been happy with the results please provide me with their names and the address to the clinic?

thanks in advance for any help that you may offer

I would charge you 60,000 euro to take out your teeth and replace all them with titanium ones:D . Orthodontics is slow, skilled and expensive. 5500 is high but I can only assume you teeth are pretty bad even though the health board dont think so. Look in the yellow pages for orthodontists if you are not happy, but be warned most proper quallified orthodontists charge about the same.

as fitzgeme says 5 grand is the going rate for fixed/fixed these days for . you/your parents can finance it over 5 years with a loan or healthcare finance. its reasonable when you think of the change it will bring to your confidence.

If you're prepared to travel up to Belfast, there are registered orthodontists who do top and bottom for £1,600 all-in. Think strongly about looking up North and you can literally save thousands.

I am looking for an orthodontist in Dublin as well. What signs do you look for to see if he/she is a good one? The closest to me is Dr Mairlin O'Donnell at Seafield Park which is close to UCD I believe. Anyone hear about Dr. O'Donnell?

My wife will be going to her for first visit in the next 2 weeks, I'll let you know. David Hone in Northbrook Clinic is one that a colleague in work recommended.
