Was at a DART station today waiting on a train with a friend from college. These knacks (one big bloke, 2 girls) stood next to us. Me and my friend were sitting on the ground.

Anyway, the bloke, whilst talking to the other knack, casually as **** says to my mate "Giz a smoke" my mate looks up at him funny, and says what?

Bloke repeats again, "Giz a smoke" and continues talking to one of th other knacks.
Even though my friend just opened a 20 pack of smokes, he tells the very rough looking type-of-knack-that-would-stab-you that he had none left (what an idiot)
The bloke freaks out and says what you mean, i seen blah blah blah, I'll put yer head through a window, **** you under a train etc...

Now this is the stupid part, My friend from college (who I still dont know that well, so didnt know how he was going to handle this situation) Decides to ignore the big knacker standing over him, and sitll doesnt hand over a smoke.

One thing leads to another, and now the bloke, and one of the girls are really starting to threaten my friend, standing over him, egging each other on to do "something" to him, and telling him there gonna kick him around.
My friend still sits there, doing nothing, letting them kick plastic bottles at him.

So we get on train, I sit across from my mate, still not having gotten anything done/said to me, I'm in shock my friend is taking this ****, considering If my mate did stand up to the knacker, I ould have happily stepped in - and considering there was only one bloke, He was never realy a threat.

So were on train, knacks sitting/standing next to us. This is were I get involved. I'm still in shock over how my mate is handling the whole sitution, and decide not to get involved unless my mate lets m know he is going to actually do something about it.
I whip out my mp3 player, and the bloke, who has not yet said or even really looked at me that much, says "ohhh, thats nice" so I stick it in my pocket anyway, and prepare to listen to it. This is when one of the girls says "ahh he puh'rit in his pok-eh!" so I say, "I was going to put it in my pocket anyway, you expect me to just hold it?"

Then the girl says "Glenn, Glenn!!! (Glenn standing by train door) he seys your a knacker!!"

Then Glenn tells me that I will be getting my head put through some windows along with my mate (more empty threats from the one man army)
Anyway, a few seconds pass, I get off at "my stop" (wasnt really mine, just an excuse to change carraige)

And that was it really, my mate followed me, said nothing, and I purposely sat a few seats up from him. I dont wanna get involved in his dispute over a smoke, even though I'd be more than happy to beat the **** into your man, but it was on a train, nd at the time, I was sitting next to a young girl, and didnt wanna drag anyone else/chance hurting any other passenegers, and after all, my retarded mate prolly would have just sat there if any was to happen.


So My question is, even though in the end nothing happened, and my mate was fine, what would you have done?

If the knack had threatened me at the station before I got on the train, I would have deffo confronted him, and kicked his head around for daring to have words with me, but he didnt, and who knows what my seemigly retarded mate would have done
