IPOD - Album Art Problems

Hey, Ive had a 30gig video ipod for about a 16months now but I noticed a while back that some of the album art is missing or incorrect when playing songs e.g. U2 would have the album cover of Johhny Cash. Now, I know its very easily fixed by just resynching with itunes and ensuring that the album cover is correct but.....…

Hey,

Ive had a 30gig video ipod for about a 16months now but I noticed a while back that some of the album art is missing or incorrect when playing songs e.g. U2 would have the album cover of Johhny Cash.

Now, I know its very easily fixed by just resynching with itunes and ensuring that the album cover is correct but..... why would this have happened in the first place....

I know that I didnt change the album art in itunes. I had a theory that it is something to do with using the ipod as a hard drive... I transferred a good bit of information (didnt max the 30gig though) a few months back and it seems I had these problems after.

Any theories?
