Total fare ends up being 345euro.

Is this still a decent price? - ive not flown to NY before.

Great value.. myself and the girlfriend have always wanted to visit.

Was planning on going this Christmas but couldn't find cheap accommodation anywhere. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Yeah, SofaKing.. a very good price considering the cheapest i could get on AerLingus in the last sale for New York was just under a grand.

    Nice one.

And Chicago for a similar price too. I was there a couple of summers back. Hmmm, both verrrry tempting.

Big difference between going there in the Summer and the Winter.
    Its too damn cold !

Aye, i had a stopover there back in Feb - and it was well below zero. The difference between the seaons is startling.

    Still, great city, nonetheless.

Yeah.. that what's putting me off!
    January:

    Average High: 36°F (4°C)
    Average Low: 26°F (-3°C)

    February:

    Average High: 32°F (4°C)
    Average Low: 29°F (-3°C)
If i wanted those kinda temperatures, i'd sleep out in my shed! :D

I'd say it's a fantastic city at Christmas but think i'll wait for an inevitable Summer sale (won't be nearly this cheap though)

I was there last christmas for a week around new years (ny in ny!) and it was not that cold at all. It was a mild winter but having been there in both seasons I now think christmas is the best time to see NY especially iceskating in Central Park.

well like any good offer this has a catch, you can't avail of these rates between 14 December and sometime in January along with other temporal exclusions. There's always a trick with these people

Yeah like Aer Lingus are going to discount fares at the busiest time of the year...

Getting like Ryanair and they haven't even bought them out yet!

    100 euro each way
Total fare ends up being 345euro

Just after Thanksgiving is the time to go over.
It's like our post Christmas sales.

Bastards. I've already booked flights to New York with them in early february for €380 return.

Chicago can get pretty cold alright in winter. Was there in February two years ago and it got down to about -5 but with the wind chill it was something like -15.It seems a different cold than what we get here.It was almost a dry cold or something not like the real damp cold that we get here that just goes through you. Will be taking advantage of this sale anyway, getting a ticket to Chicago again in February

Another thing that bugs with these prices is that they always show the prices one-way. Who on earth is going to buy a single to New York????

Myself and her indoors flew into NY and out of Boston last december 29 - jan 17 for less than 700 return. Booked well in advance though. Majorly recommend Killington Ski resort in Vermont too. First time sking and it was amazing.

Also single tickets are useless for dealing with US immigration. You have to have a return ticket.

Not unless you are a convicted criminal or have been refused entry/deported or denied a visa in the past. :)

Fuel Surcharge:The fare above does not include a fuel surcharge of EUR40.00.
The fuel surcharge amount will be included in the total price for this journey.

Why not just put the €20 on the price of the ticket each way, looks more like a Ryanair trick(But then again I filled my car up with petrol and it came to €73 last night  )

I thought there were rules to force airlines to show the tax inclusive prices?
