Connecting an mp3 player to ur 360?

i connected my mp3 using the usb port but i couldnt get it working,anyone know how to do this?

If your zen isn't being detected as a portable device by your 360, then you need to update the player's firmware.

I have one of the old zen's. You have to upgrade the firmware so that it becomes a playsforsure device. That'll wipe the harddrive so make sure you have everything backed up. It'll work with the xbox after this.

if you have a usb cable for the mp3 player then it just plugs in at the front or back usb ports on the 360. thats how i do it with my ipod.
you can get an xbox live sub from basically any game shop,ebay, through your xbox. you just choose the cheapest one for you.
i got a kit with pgr3,live sub and xbox headset for €45 whereas the xbox live sub costs at most €60 on its own

if u go to ebay.com You can get 12 month live subscriptions for about €25, just get them to email you the code too!

i bought it in xtravision for 60... but the woman gave me another one attatched by an elastic band for free . one from the display case methinks. used it and it worked so woot 2 yrs for 60 yoyos. anyway, does anyone know if you can put in 2 cards at once, and if so will it work for 2 years? or do i have to wait till my first year expires?

not so sure about that - i have a feeling that it only detects portable devices that use drag and drop rather than the zen that uses software to import files. I have a creative zen sleek and it doesn't work unless i change it to the portable device function. has Anyone been able to use it with a Zen Sleek?

Yes, you just need to update your fireware.

ipods, creatives, irivers etc.... are all supported. The 360 ships with various drivers for various popular mp3 player brands.

Not really that straightforward. The 360 doesn't support all players, it will not support certain players that need drivers.

Which Zen do you have? Check if it has a firmware update. If it has a firmware update to make it MTP compatible, then it'll work, just update the FW and you're done. If it's older still, then you're out of luck.

Unfortunately that list isn't very up to date at all, not very comprehensive.

Essentially the player has to be either a) an iPod (they have an update on marketplace to support them), b) an MTP player or c) mass storage player (like flash players)

Yeah, but it's missing plenty of others. Good place to start, I'm just saying it is not a full list, someone might check it and not see their player listed, and it might be supported.

I have a fairly old Zen (Zen xtra 30gb, nice big chunky silver one) and I was able to update the firmware to make a playsforsure device with no problems. Works like a drag and drop device now, I can use it on any pc without having to preinstall drivers.

Ive got a Creative Zen Nano Plus and it works perfectly, which is a very good thing as I refuse to upgrade its firmware. Creative are removing the ability to record radio from their players.

I dont record a lot of radio but it was a feature when when i bought it and ill be damned if ill let them take it from me
