Contractor or Employee?

    Hi All,

I have just been offered a position on a team which should last about 9 months - 1 year. In the past, I have always been an employee but my prospective employer has given me the choice of taking the position as an employee or as a contractor (with same salary).

Some of the work can be done from home with the other portion at the employers premises.

Just wondering what others think or would do in this situation.

    Thanks
    Whitey

i'd stick with being an employee. if you get into contracting you've the whole tax situation with being self employed and forms after forms to be filled in.

Going Contractor, you need to be paid more as you will need to pay your own PRSI, VAT, etc.
