    Hi everyone,

I am doing a module where a number of guest speakers come in everyweek and talk about what they do. So far we have had a collage artist, a composer, a consultant and someone who has worked in film.

Each week, we have to write a diary 300 words long.

    Here are the guidelines:

    Guidelines for journal

    • Write in the first Person
    • Be both descriptive and analytical
    • Indicate how your ideas have developed and changed
    • Reflect on ideas/theories/examples which struck you in the presentations
    • Relate learning to other aspects of the course
    • Incorporate relevant reading into your journal with appropriate citation/sources
    • Incorporate references to other relevant material such as theatre/cinema/television/exhibitions/multimedia artifacts
    • Attend to grammar, punctuation, syntax and spelling
    • Write up your journal weekly – you should aim to write around 300 words per week (to complete journal of 2,400 – 3,000 words in total).

Sounds very simple but its worth the equivelant of 2 ordinary modules put together and I am just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to do well in this?

Fair point, though I have to say, ud want to try multimedia first cos the workload is not for the fainthearted if you really want to get something out of it...think people really have the wrong impression of multimedia courses in general...fourth year is actually the easiest year !

Most people get the wrong impression of Multimedia when they see the graduates working in Cinemas and HMV.

u are right we don't have as many hours but we make up for it in lab time - we regularly do 14 hour days in the weeks up to when projects are due - our course is more about independent learning.

Its a completely different discipline to biotech so there is no comparison - a B.Sc. after your name means nothing if you aren't good at what you do...

I won't resort to slagging off other courses to make my point because its childish...

yes, we also have lab time, lab reports and assignments.

i'm not slagging off your course, i'm just saying that at the end of it all we'll have the same letters after our name. thats all.
