I know its a good Idea, and a lot safer, but is it the Law that a Motorbike must have working Indicators?

I only ask because one of mine right rear is Broken, and having a hell of a time getting a replacement. Stupid japanese import! I may have to change the lot of them with some sort of hybrid....

    I read the http://www.transport.ie/upload/general/8342-0.pdf

But it only speaks about Headlamps Tail light and Numberplate light...

Not a legal requirement IIRC, but I believe if they are present on the bike then they must be in working order (as other drivers can reasonably expect to get a signal from them!). That might be just the old rules for the test though-you used not have to have indicators but if present they had to work, nowadys a test bike must have indicators in all cases). Sorry, not much help. You're better off having them for your own safety though!

There are lots of choices for aftermarket or LED indicators and there is no excuse for not having something suitable on your bike. DOn't give anyone the opportunity to try and blame you for an accident 'Oh I didn't know you were turning...'

    Have a look on eBay

The law says that WHERE FITTED indicators must work. I learnt this one a long time ago from Bray Honda Centre

    i dont understand,
if its melted and your getting rid, just break it open.
the metal inside the hoursing should be intact so you can pull the bulb out.

put a new bulb in and glue it back together.
it'll be uglu, but at least you wont be killed by a car driver who doesnt know what your doing.

I saw a good few pairs of replacement aftermarket indicators for sale in megabikes the other week (admitedly mostly tacky - carbon fiber effect? eww). Im pretty sure you'd be getting change out of 20e for a pair too - cant remember the exact price, but they where cheap.
