    10/20 PLO Stars

I've been at the table about 2 hours. Image would be solid tag.

Villain has 1200 before this hand. I cover. No real reads other than he may be a little tilty after getting stacked a few hands earlier.

    I open for 60 UTG with Aspade.gif Aclub.gif 2spade.gif 2club.gif

    Only 1 caller.

    Flop (150) Jclub.gif Jdiamond.gif Tspade.gif

    I bet 120. Villain calls.

    Turn (390)

    2diamond.gif

What's the plan for the rest of the hand?

How would you play it if the turn was a black 3?

not an Omaha expert but i think with the 2 there i would check call bet on the turn and check the river and maybe call a bet and maybe fold depending on the size and my read.
if it was a black 3 there i would prob check fold.
am being too weak passive here?

    Bet half the pot now.

    I would check/fold often to a black 3.

I've played thousands of hands in this game. Who was the villian? The 2 is possibly an awful card. The flat call by the villian is screaming "i have a monster". Assuming he's a decent player, he's not calling with a draw here. It looks like he has either trip Jacks, JT, TT or something like that. I know it might seem like I'm assuming the worst but if you think what he called the raise pre-flop and the bet on the flop with, the flop must have hit him.

It's possible that the 2 has got you out of trouble but it could also have got you deeper in. Out of position, I'd posture at the flop one more time betting 50%-60% pot now and if he calls, give up (unless you catch the Ace).

It's one of the trickiest situations to play in the game (out of position).

I've played with him but don't have any specific notes on him. You forgot to say how many players were dealt in. If it was 3 or 4 handed, he won't take you for AAxx or KKxx as easy as if you had raised UTG with 8 players to act. If it was short handed, he might call on the flop with QQxx or KKxx himself.

The game was 8 handed. I had raised 3 or 4 times from UTG. The two hands that I'd showndown were 789T and KKQJ. One other time I had AAxx and took the hand down on the flop, so the villain has no reason to believe that my range was AAxx/KKxx.

In that case, he has no reason to assume that you can only have AAxx. He could call here with KKxx or some sort of KKQx or KQQx combination. Maybe he even picked up diamonds. In, this case, you want him to draw out his flush/straight on the river. On the turn, (in his eyes) it's most likely you have 2 pair.

If it came A, J, 9, 8, 7 or a diamond on the river, it will possibly be good for you. Bet the river if this happens because if he made a flush/straight, he will call a half pot bet. Personally, I wouldn't get married to the hand as you can always find better situations to get your money in the middle.

I don't think I bet this flop a large % of the time.
I definitely try to keep the pot small now, and get to a cheap showdown.
If Villain wakes up and seems to be value betting I'd make a reluctant fold depending on his bet sizes.

It's possible Villain might have some kind of wrap straight draw and not believe you have a J (i.e. he puts you on AAxx or worse) and thinks that his straight draw is live. This would make me call down more often if the turn/river brings a straight.

    I check/fold a black 3.

Result is pretty boring. I bet 250 on the turn and he folded. I reckon he had KKxx or QQxx.

I think the hand would be interesting if a black 3 had come as I would check fold alot in that spot, often putting down the better hand. Oh the joys of position.
