Folks, i have checked out the usual websites and have noticed the insurance side of renting in australia seems a rip off, excess of 3-4k and to waive it about 25 a day, x22 days = 550 aud..... nearly the price of the rental !

So hear goes, anyone rent recently in Australia , we are heading to perth, but the websites usually cover the entire country, who did you use ? who did you find the best value ? who would you keep away from ?

    Thanks,

    oleras

I don't know if it's still about and it's 8 years since I was there, but you could see if Rent a Lemon is still in operation. They rent second hand cars in varying conditions, but they're all safe.

    Apparently.

Enjoy the drive to Perth. The Nullabor Plain is fascinating! Spend a day in Kalgoorlie if you can. It's like a throwback to a bygone era!
