iPod Black or White?!

    Folks,
I'm going to do something that I swore I'd never do - buy an iPod.
I'm going to go the full-hog and get the 80Gb video.
But the thing is - should I get it in black or white?
I think white would be better, but I'm thinking black might be more suitable for watching videos on.

Does anybody have an opinion at all?

    Cheers,
    S.

black shows that it's newer too :p

another bit of advice, get rid of the white earphones they make you look like a knob!

I'd go for white if I was to buy one again.

I've had ipods since the 2nd generation of ipods, i recently got the 5.5th generation the 80gb video ipod and the first i've bought in black.

initially it looks cool, 10 minutes been in your hands it looks as grubby as a culchies napsack..... seriously every bit of dust or fingerprint looks exagerated on its shiny black surface...

I wish i had stuck with white....

White FTW!* If only because once you've misplaced it, a little white brick is easier to spot than a little black brick! ;)

*and my owning a white one has no bias. At all!

Black shows fingerprints, white doesn't. But black looks cooler if it's mounted on the dashboard of a car, for instance. I guess it's up to you.

So don't put you fingers on the screen :) Yes, dust and fingerprints do show up, but that gives an incentive to keep it clean or give it a wipe with a lint-free cloth periodically.

Get the white one and then put a black protective skin over it.

The black ones scratch more easily, but look nicer and newer as someone said.
All my pods have been white, even when I had a black option... nothing worse than scratches ggrrrrr
