DHL rock, took 2 days for my brothers TM G36C to arrive from UNCompany. Infact, I think they realise that it is infact YOU who suck, thus why your package is delayed.

My rifle is now back in F***ing Hong Kong, at this rate it would be quicker if I flew over and brought it back myself. I reckon some little git in london wasted all my ammo so they had to ship the whole lot back to hong kong to get more either that or theyre all morons

Well I was wrong I just spoke to DHL and it turns out that some little git in london decided that airsoft rifles were illegal in the UK and Ireland, I guess ive just been added to some smugglers blacklist somewhere. This is so bloody stupid Uncompany lists their packages as toys DHL don't agree but they won't tell me what they should be listed as either.

Liamo333 was right DHL do indeed suck

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

well they have had my gun in london for over a week now. They lost my first gun so UNcompany (who are brilliant) sent me another one. Its been over 1 month and a half since i bought the gun, conclusion-DHL are useless!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

Well buddy I have some even better news for you, after about 30 mins arguing with DHL and explaining Irish law to them DHL have decided that no matter what I or the Irish government (or English for matter, they told me they were also illegal in the UK) say airsoft rifles are illegal offensive weapons and they will not accept packages containg them. Dont know how harekin got his and his bros from them but bottom line for me is the gun has been returned to UNcompany and under no circumstances will DHL ship it to Ireland.

So now I'm fairly pi**ed and wondering what I can do to have DHL nailed to the wall ( preferably with large crooked rusty nails)

Holy f**K! i cant belive that, you better be joking me. Those DHL arses are thick as two short planks nailed together. Where are there HQ, i say we go in there with all the airsofters in the south and show them proof that a rubber baseball bat is more dangerous than an airsoft gun.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

If Iv said it once Ill say it a million times, its nothing to do with UNCompany. Its true that DHL can be weird but they aint ever really let me down.

Wasn't actually trying to inply that Uncompany were at fault,Just wondering what their policy's were with this kinda thing

I havent had a chance to mail UNcompany yet but I'll get on to them later, hopefully they can send it with UPS or someone

how'd DHL know what was in the package anyway? if customs find an airsoft gun do they then tell the courier who's sending it out to your house? or was "airsoft gun" just written on the package?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

    it was sent by uncompany

? UNcompany are the website he bought it from. the website dont have men who run out to your house. they use what are called couriers, or postmen.
    in this case, DHL :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

i've been siting here for a few minutes just trying to find some way to tell you i knew that without swearing reallyu badly!!!!!!!!

dhl won't send the package because it is FROM uncompany, uncompany soulely sell airsoft goods (silicon oil and all included) it is the same reason that amazon won't send even a pod or some o-rings to ireland because they are paintball stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,589 ✭✭✭✭o1s1n

    ah right. minor misunderstanding :P

so DHL would know that UNcompany solely sell airsoft related goods. interesting. still though, they're bloody legal! someone just mentioned that they were selling springers at toys 4 big boys. which means it HAS to be known. surely they must know too?

Oh they know, or at least they better know after the amount of times i told them. According to Mr DHL manager idiot the rifle got as far as Heathrow, they scanned it in a metal detector and decided it was an illegal weapon, I tried to explain that it was a toy made of PLASTIC but they just wouldnt listen. The converstaion went something like

Me: Hi i was wondering why my package was shipped back to Hong Kong
DHL: It was an illeagal weapon
Me: Actually it was a toy and since august they have been perfectly leagal in this country
DHL: It was an illeagal weapon
Me: No it was an airsoft rifle which is perfectly legal over here
DHL: It was an illeagal weapon

and so on ad infinitum, well until i hung up anyway. Still waiting for a reply from UNcompany but knowing my look they probably dont work on weekends

lol! got a chuckle out of me there.

what an idiot. you think a courier agency MANAGER would be kept up to date with current changes in the law.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 969 ✭✭✭MaxForce

Is it possible to request that UNCompany use a different courier to Ireland? UPS, FedEx or somthing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

    Should be, why not?

Would be pretty sure DHL would re consider thier position if they started to lose custom.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

UNCompany and DHL both mark the package "Plastic Toys". Its on all the packages Iv ever been sent by them which is 4 in total.

NOIP, do you know what the name of the manager you were talking to was. Can you tell me i would like to talk to him.
    Cheers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

In response to them claiming it illegal.Iv had all my guns shipped by DHL from UNCompany...one only arriving last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

The guys name was Pat or Paul I think. I was a little too annoyed to think about taking names.

I tried to explain to them that they had delivered guns from Uncompany to people in Ireland before but they refused to budge. The logic at work there just baffles me,

So if we have delivered these guns dozens of times before, but we can't (or won't ) deliver this one clearly we were wrong all the other times instead of just this once

Lets just for a second assume that they have delivered 19 airsoft rifles to the Republic, but with my order they are actually following proceedure and doing everything right, that means that they get 95% of their deliveries wrong. DHL a true disciple of the aim low and never be dissapointed school of thought

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

OK ask uncompany to send it by hong kong post, they should send it no problem. I was taking to anPost and they said they would send it as long as its legal. try to get a refund off DHL proably wont get one but its worth a try.

Well i got some news from UNcompany if i send them another E67 they will re-ship the package with TNT, I have emailed them back to see if they will ship with Hong Kong post as per Liamo333s post

I dont really mind sending Uncompany the money they shouldn't lose out because of DHL, i do however mind losing the money myself so does anyone know how i can go about getting my money back from DHL afterall they never delivered my package so why should i pay them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

NOIP i was talking to tnt and they said that they will not ship airsoft guns as like DHL they are prohibited items. I think that the only way of getting a refund is calling them up and asking them.

EDIT:OK just called DHL and they said that UNcompany will have to make the claim.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

Thanks Liamo333 I emailed Uncompany and they will ship with Hong Kong post, they want an extra $78 which sucks but i really want my G3 so I'll probably pay :( but I will get on to them about claiming that money back from DHL, those clowns will not be keeping my cash

You could check with the Citizens Information to see if there is a Government Body in relation to issues with couriers and make a complaint to them if they exsist. I am still confused as to how DHL and TNT can grade our toys as prohibited. Who do EHobby use for shipping?

I'm telling you UNcompany are trying to bloody kill me, have a look at the email they sent me

Thank you very much for your order , the products were just shipped. The
deliverer's website is www.DHL.com, the tracking number is EE743858682HK

DHL again I nearly had a heart attack.

Its cool though they sent me another mail a minute later to tell me they had actually sent it with HongKong Post.
