Congrats to the team who all played their hearts out to build points so that when it came down to it, we were freerolling the final for a win, with a draw in the bag!

The live reports are on www.antesup.com and but if you want the abridged version
Ken Doherty defeated Dave O'C in the semis to progress to play Kevin Conway from England, if Ken won Ireland won, if Ken lost Ireland drew with England. Ken didnt let us down!

So congrats to the Irish team, if I'm not mistaken this and Scarborough are the first times an Irish team has triumphed over an English team, not to mention the Welsh and Scots.

The Irish team was sponsored by www.greenjokerpoker.com and captained by Mike Lacey.

    DeV.

really fun event and i think everyone had a great time.
I knew Ireland was a good bet at 2/1, now if only i had a VC account....
and to complete the domination, after me and Len did a 1-2 in the rebuy in scarborough , i split last nights rebuy at about 5am with Niall.

Was a great laugh and I'm delighted Ken took it down! Fair play to Mike Dave the Fitz and the other teams!

I lost my HU match against Booder who played very well. I fired 3 bluffs at a QcJc5xQ9 board. I was pretty sure he was on a club flush draw. River 9 no flush and I put him in for 70% of his remaining chips. He thinks for about 5 minutes and makes a great call with 9c3c. My T high was looking good until the river

The rebuy game was a good laugh. I needed to come 2nd to make a profit as I had spent 400 EUR during the rebuy period. When we got to the final table the average stack was about 40k, and with blinds at 500/1000 it turned out to be a great game. I was on 25k but doubled up off Robbie early on with qq vs jj. I then lost 12k when I had to lay down AK in a really tough decision. Pab Flushy and Colchester Kev were all still left in for England. Myself Robbie and Smurph were the remaining Irish team players. When it went 4 handed Smurph got ul to run into my AJ with A9. Robbie then took out Pab with AK vs 88 and we went heads up. Robbie had about 270k to my 70k but with blinds low enough I was far from dead. We played HU for what must have been 2 hours. I doubed up with KK early enough and even took a 2/1 CL for a while after a big bluff with KT which I showed! Robbie got back to level and the blinds went up to 5k/10k we decided to split it.

The one regret i have from the weekend is not following up on my own advice and sticking 20 on Ken @ 50/1....

one of the funniest was the english guy who had 60k n change with the blinds at 50/100...and still had to rebuy a few times after that =P
