Sorry if this is a stupid question but I had an ipod and decided to change to an mp3 player. But I have loads of songs on my ipod that I want on my mp3 how would I go about getting them off my ipod and on to my mp3 preferably in .wma format. I don't have the songs on a computer so they have to come from the ipod.
    Thanks for any advice.

An iPod is an mp3 player.

I'm not sure if iTunes allows you to copy the contents of the iPod back to the computer, but there are plugins for Winamp and Foobar that may allow you to do it.

Depending on the file type they may already be mp3 or else aac. You could use a program like dbpoweramp to transcode the files to wma but you will lose quality and wma is generally considered one of the worst audio formats.

You can't copy directly from an iPod to another MP3 player - you will have to use a computer of some sort as the in-between step to store the music files.

Read the F.A.Q., particularly this post and this post. Use the tips there to get the music from your iPod and onto a PC. Then copy them onto your new MP3 player, using your MP3 players software to convert them to WMA (why?) beforehand if necessary.

As this question is basically covered in the F.A.Q., I'm closing this thread.
