I want to use the 3g Vodafone BB in my smartphone and in the laptop via pcmcia card. Is there an extra charge for getting both a data sim and that data card?

The pc card uses a normal sim card so it can be used in either one.

I assume you're referring to Vodafone Unlimited Data? The PCMCIA card simply has a SIM card slot. I can confirm that the SIM most definitely also works in a smart phone, or even a normal phone, though you won't be able to make any calls (you will be able to receive calls, though).
