since last tuesday/wednesday everytime I attempt to connect to xbox live I get prompted to update (yes or no) if I choose yes it fails to connect if I choose I'm back to my dashboard and still cant connect. If I am loading a game I also get prompted with this update option. I rang 360 support and they said this was a known issue and they were looking into it. Just wondering if any1 else is having the same problem as 360 support leaves alot to be desired:mad: and I got the impression that the guy was just fob'n me off

also I was reading on another thread that updates can be burnt to cd on your pc and then installed on the 360...is this true...if so where can I find these burnable updates as I cant seem to find anything on the xbox360 site of microsoft.

    thanks

Was Live working ok before you tried to update?

Do you pass all the connection tests?

yep was working fine until this new update:mad:
reset my router and all other hardware working perfectly with my current connection(pc,ps2 etc)

I have been reading about modded box's being affected but mine is a month old out the the box and not modded.

can someone tell where I can find a copy of the spring or more recent obtober update for my irish xbox that I can burn to cd and give that a go as microsoft "support" are useless.

I rang them up initially 2 weeks ago with connection issues and all support told me is that I would have to change a setting!!!!they couldnt tell what setting....they might as well say go outside...jump up and down and see if that works...I am really beginning to hate MS with a passion

I opened out my ports and removed the firewall but still does not update. I was talking to a supervisior with xbox360 support and he said the unit needs to come back for repair that will take up to 3 weeks. I told him I dont even have the unit 3 weeks!!!He said there are some units shipped with Operating system faults...I went back to where I bought my Xbox and got a replacement. The guy in the game store said he had spoke to MS support and they said they were updating to update!!! today. I'm not holding my breath...

Is there any chance you could try it on someone elses connection?

tried a different connection and no difference...I cleared out the cache on the HDD which deletes old updates (according to MS support)...
