I've been asked to write an article for the Trinity College Record (Trinity's SU paper) about the cancellation of RAG Week by NUIG SU. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this and if you could point me in the right direction.

If rag week is done away with, there will still be an unofficial one ran by the pubs and clubs!

maybe if you got onto the students union in the college you would find out some better information....

    just go to http://www.su.nuigalway.ie/

and get the contact number from there.

but since i am on the union i can break the news now, it is being cancelled and will be replaced!!!

There was an article in SIN a while back on this so it's up for discussion definetly.

It's in need of a major overhaul though I wouldn't like it seen got rid off but if there was something good AND well organised with a particapation element for students during the day to raise money then it would be ok. You can't stop the students doing what there doing during the night

there has been three meetings on the topic so far, and alot of ideas have been hatched, anyone in the college wanting to get involved in the revamp should pm damien corridan at
    su.president@nuigalway.ie
and you will receive info on when the sub committee meetings are on and you will be welcome to attend.

Don't just sit back and let others do it, if you want a good rag get up and make the effort

Rag week is not that great.I actually think that freshers week and rag week are the most overhyped weeks in college.Places are just way too packed during rag week(although the foam party in the GPO is brilliant.)
