Hopefully we will see another thriller in Dublin vs Meath in the quarter final of the Leinster championship.

Mayo v Galway, first round, down in Pearse, hot day, everybody stuck in traffic, Peter Ford against his own county, the winner will prob take Connaght ... oh and a little matter of Johnno possibly managing his own county against the one where he won 2 senior All Irelands with.

    Now thats a cracker.

Elsewhere not a hell of a lot.
Armagh v Donegal in Ulster should be good.
Wicklow unlucky to get Louth who are a coming team who won't underestimate them.
Clare v Cork down in the hurling down in Munster as well should be nice but the one I'm hoping for is Clare v Galway when the Clare boys face up to their Messiah and biggest critic all rolled into one in Ger Loughnane. Clare are one of the toughest teams around and if Galway can match then physically and mentally then that wpuld lay down a marker for them this year.

IMO, Clare will have lost a bit of that "toughness" from the last decade - they will have 2 massive gaps in the middle of their defence and they seem to me to be a team in massive transition. If Galway were to play Clare, I don't think that it would be a massive a match as people are saying. Galway are very soft (mentally) and it would be a massive surprise to me if Loughnane has them "geared up" as much as he had his old Clare team for next year's championships.

Possibly true McMahon and Lohan are huge losses but Considine isn't exactly an easy going kinda guy and alot of fellas on the current Clare team have shipped heavy criticism from Loughnane. I'd expect Loughnane biggest problem with Galway will be Galway the Loughrea lads won't talk to the Portuma guys, the Cannings are thinking of pulling out of the panel and everyone is pissed of at the Loughrea lads for their behaviour the last day. If he can channel the agression in the right manner and mould together a team rather than a group of individuals they could beat anyone.
