Good second last time out in a similar race to todays,should come on for that run and will have the advantage of a run over the fav (Kaldouas) who has obvious claims but I think the run may prove the difference here.

I love Beef or Salmon, and I'd love to see him do some sort of comeback. I have been known to lose money on him before by backing with my heart, so Im going to oppose him today.

Here is my 2 cent worth on the race anyway:

Should win:

War Of Attrition should take this chase handy enough. He had a nice win on his return this season and Mouse Morris’ star jumped well. Conor O Dwyer has a decent enough record at this track too. He seems a fair bit ahead of his rivals and should have no problems today.

2nd Place

The battle for second place should be interesting. Beef or Salmon has being battling back to fitness, and managed to come second last time out with a decent performance. He is proven on the course and distance which is quite important, as Beef or Salmon clearly has tracks that he loves or hates. Justified is a great horse, and also has a good shout at second place. Justified won on his return in Limerick, and Sheehy has a nice profitable record here. Bothar Na is also a decent sort, but is a little inconsistent. I’ll stick the neck out though and call 2nd for old beefy. Id love to see him make some sort of return. I'd call Justified in 3rd for the tri-cast.

Out of interest:

I’ll also be interested to see how Light on the Broom runs. He is Last in the betting at 299/1 (betfair). While he looks inferior to this field, they have been waiting to enter him in a chase for a while now. He has being doing well coming second to Sir Oj and Davenport Democrat on his last times out. He is also proven CD winner. Interestingly, both trainer and jockey have profitable records at Down Royal

I haven't done my system since it threw out Dixie Belle at 66s because of other commitments I have and this is a shame because I would like to see if it proved profitable or not. Even though this is a placepot system I will include the Irish racing today.
