Speaking of YouTube, PrimeTime

Did anyone see the discussion on YouTube on Thurs evenings edition
of PrimeTime. OMG. Some editor or employee of ENN and Ian O'Doherty
on a rant with Miriam O'Callaghan in the middle of the guff.

The guy from ENN was clearly out of his depth in terms of relaying
information to the layperson. I felt sorry for him but really whoever
researched the programme should have chosen someone more media
savvy. Ian O'Doherty (grrrr) was ranting and
doing his tiresome routine of "blah-blah-blahbaddy blah... whatever" sort of
tabloid nonsense speak including some kind of populist rant about
McDowell's statement in the Dail and several throwaway remarks about
"bumfighting" (whatever that is.. clearly O'Doherty is an expert on it).

Most cringeworthy coverage I've ever seen. They eventually pulled
in some legal expert from UK from a remote studio who at least added
some kind of voice of reason to the issue by explaining the needs for frameworks to monitor and control, etc.

Yep, saw that...had to turn it off. Neither Doherty nor the other chap were remotely accurate or informed about the subject. Poorly researched like you say.

Yeah it was poor which I was suprised about as Prime is usually pretty good. But then it was all just another Liveline-Talk-to-Joe storm in the teacup. It was the dick who kicked the poor girl in the face who was at fault not YouTube's.
