.. internationals is reduced which means that there are less terrace tickets available for you or me (but mainly me).

    Why ?

Because they want to have temporary seating on the terraces for the soccer international against San Marino.

Are they expecting a sellout for a game between the team that shipped 5 goals to the Cypriots against some postmen & butchers & students from a field in Northern Italy ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Surely the East & West stands will have enough capacity for the football equivalent of two bald men fighting over a comb ?

    Sorry

I need a place to vent my frustration. Got a letter this morning from the club saying they couldn't supply me with tickets for the November internatiobnals because of reduced terrace capacity.

Yeah it is quite annoying, but blame the FAI and not the IRFU.

Apparently there is not enough time to put the seating in place for the soccer and therefore it is in place for the rugby. UEFA/FIFA demand that terracing is covering in seating with no standing.

I understand why the seats are there, but surely it should be Rugby first. It is, after all, the IRFU's ground, but it's rugby fans that miss out because of it.

It still annoys me that poofball commentators bemoan the condition of the pitch thanks to the lumps and bumps on it after a rugby match. Lads, it's a fcuking RUGBY pitch! If you don't like it, pi$$ off back to Dalymount.

Tarf, if I can lay my hands on a spare ticket, I'll let you know.

You can't blame the FAI entirely. IRFU own the stadium so it was their call at the end of the day.

I wasn't blaming the FAI. I was venting against whoever decided that the terraces needed to be available for the visit of San Marino, especially when it leads to a loss of revenue to the IRFU for the November games.

Anyway, all is well that ends well. I'm sorted for tomorrow and the PI game and may yet get a complimentary East Stand ticket for the Australia game.

Anyone know if there will be seats on the terraces for the Australia game.

Yes that was the plan. it takes 4 to 5 days for them to remove the seating totally. So they said they were goin to leave it in till just after the Aussie game. So at least we'll get terraces for the PI match
