Connecting up a SKY dish????

My builder took it upon himself to remove my SKY dish when he was re doing the roof. Its now sitting in the garden and I've no tv.

Would it be possible for me to reconnect the dish and realign it or is this a job best left to the professionals?

However, I'll be moving out of the house next month when he's breaking through so would it be better if I cancelled the SKY contract (and thus not pay for a service I won't be using) and reapplied (in the wife's name) for any deals they have running after Christmas (and get a new dish as the one I have is old)?

    Advice appreciated

Wirebrush, sand and remove any rust. Repaint.

Yes you can reconnect dish. It need not be on roof. A wall lit by sun around 11 to 11.30am will likely "see" the satellite. Do not take risks at height!
