Does anyone know of any shop in or around Dublin that sells Caberg Helmets?

I like the look and features of these helmets but, obviously want to try one on before making any kind of decision... I do see from their Website that Crossan's in Newry claims to stock some but I don't fancy that journey at the moment, if I can avoid it... would much prefer to shop somewhere nearer Dublin if possible.

    Thanks!

They have them in Planet Fun in Glasnevin. I tried one on in there and got in online for over €100 less. I have a Justissimo and it's brilliant - especially this time of year when the sun is blinding!

Yep, I got a black Justissimo there a couple of years ago. Ask for Eoin and remember to haggle!

Well, went to Planet Fun today - first time there. Place is a mess! All sorts of stuff strewn around the place. Found the exact helmet I wanted eventually, and was going to buy it there and then (as I'm stuck for a helmet at the moment) but the guy wanted to sell me the one off the stand just, unboxed ... Said they only sold the helmets on display. Which was a bit weird. So I just left. Know my size though now so suppose I could order one online okay. Very odd place that Planet Fun though ...

    Try http://www.hein-gericke-store.com/.
They're usually very cheap, and very reliable (the German site, rather than the UK site).

Unfortunately they don't have the Caberg flip-up - I've got stuff from Hein-Gericke before though and agree their service was very good. Might try ringing around a few stores tomorrow if I can get some time free.

It's the sun visor bit that I really like about the Caberg so if anyone knows of another Helmet available in Dublin with a sun visor as well as the normal visor, please let us know :) Thanks!

I've got a Caberg Justissimo (flip-up) which I bought at Bikeworld about 6 months ago. Pretty pricy though - think it was about EUR300.
Upsides: Very comfortable, has never leaked, the built-in shades are very useful, and anti-mist is pretty good.
Downsides: Very noisy if you have the visor up. So bad that I can't actually have the visor up if I'm going faster than about 20kph. Of course, ear-plugs would cure this !

I got mine from http://www.inter-bike.co.uk/ with postage, a chain, disklock and new cover for my other chain it still came out less than the price of the helmet here!

Many of the Schuberth models have a sun visor.

Many of 'em are also available from Heine Gericke.

Also the Nolan N102 is available from Hein Giricke. I got mine from www.fc-moto.de they also have the caberg one you want for €194.

Thanks for all that info folks, some really useful stuff there...

Some of those Schuberth models look quite nice - I'll keep my eyes open for those now too. The Nolan I had heard of before but see quite poor reviews floating around the interwebnet place... the 195 price though, on the Caberg, is easily the best I've seen, really good value - good stuff! :)

Planet Fun was in a mess at the weekend because they were raided by CAB

It seems they have been naughty boys

Well the bad reviews are rubbish! :)
I heard a few good reviews, so tried it out cos i wanted to see what a flip up lid was like. The helmet I was wearing before was an Arai RX7 which i loved. Since I got the Nolan I havent worn the Arai. I have nothing but good things to say about the Nolan.
AND you can put a bluetooth head set into it (has a little compartment for it)

Cool! I have a helmet with built in bluetooth which I did get some use out of (a Dainese helmet). Problem was that the helmet itself was made for someone with a completely different head shape to me... something that I didn't recognise until about 30mins into a journey...

Had an Arai which I wore all the time, hugely comfortable but just dropped the damned thing last week whilst leaving work and fumbling with my gear - watched the thing bounce... bounce ... bounce... along the corridor and down the stairs...

Hence the new helmet hunt :)

I can't help you with the Dublin hunt, but I found this on Saturday evening.
    http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=103

Nearly clicked on the buy button, but seeing as I was heading over to Birmingham on the Sunday, I decided to wait. I got myself a Justissimo for £130 at the show. Damn that extra pound.

    Happy hunting.

You might get a nice pair of gloves :D , I heard all their stock looks nice and clean , as if it had been laundered in some way ;) .

The lads that run the shop know a good bit about cutting deals for cash.

I got my bike from them in Jan and they were great. I wasn't 100% what I wanted - seat height is a big factor for me - so they let me sit on as many bikes as I wanted to try them out for size etc - even huge bikes!! :D:D He held the forks while I hopped on and off :D
