My brief poker history..and fishing for some info

Hello all, just discovered this poker forum a couple of hours ago and have enjoyed going through some of the threads about hands played, playing styles, Bank roll limits etc. There seems to be a lot of well informed enthusiasts out there.

Anyway I'd be more of a fish or a newbie. The only game I can play is Texas Holdem- well, aside from basic draw which I hate as there is such little information. Haven't a clue about Omaha or 7 card stud or others. I played on Party Poker about 6 or 8 months ago for a while. My approach was possibly typical of new players. I deposited $110 and played only Sit and Go tournaments as I figured I didn't have the skill or knowledge for cash games(and still don't).

My playing style was basic as you can imagine but I was thrilled to find there were more clueless people than me out there. All i did was play huge starting hands(AA,KK,QQ,AK) from the first 7 or 8 positons and any two cards from the last 2-3 positions to alleviate the boredom. Retarded I know but you'd be surprised how many people don't notice and I was soon up to a Bankroll of near $500.

I was however destined as many to burn out rather than fade away and with my healthy BR of $500 I got busted one drunken Sunday evening playing $109 Sit and Go's with considerably better players.Still, I had gotten some value from my $110 deposit and never went back...but now I want to.

But heres the thing - this time if I manage to get ahead I'd actually like to cash out some money instead of recklessly playing games out of my BR limit(and playing ability limit) until I go bust, further fuelling Froids theories that all gamblers subconsciously want to lose their money. My new motto is F### losing and F*** Froid. I may want to kill my father and ride my mother but I'm certain I don't want to lose at Texas Holdem!

The last time I just deposited with MasterCard and probably secretly knew I'd never have to worry about cashing out. What are the cash out options on most sites? Neteller or Visa seem to be the options on Party poker. Tried opening a Neteller a/c but the whole deposit in my bank a/c thing never happened. Browsing through threads here I found this one

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055006388

which didn't fill me with hope and joy about Neteller. Do any sites just accept deposits and cashouts with mastercard? Is Paypal(which I find to be excellent from ebay wheelings and dealings) available on any? That may be a silly question as I think its a US company but anyway...any info appreciated.

    OK thanks for reading

My first piece of advice is stop thinking out loud:eek:

Other advice, read the forums, pick up a book on Ebay, maybe Harrington on Holdem is a good start and start posting hands and get advice and again i cant say this enough....stop thinking out loud

Don't mind that DVDfan fella, thinking out-loud is what I undestand this forum is all about :D

I have found Paddy Power Poker the easyiest site for depositing and cashing out. The site is very player friendly and there's always some sort of free stuff happening. Good luck at the tables.

(PS - You might have missed the rule that you must disclose your site alias after your first post.)

Lol I did say "may" and not "do". As in "I may have 2 aces over here". Wouldn't make you fold your cowboys now would it. Thx for the suggestions. Is that Harrington book kind of tournament specific?

i read the NL holdem bit of super system before which was good and stressed position importance -which i was pretty much oblivious of until then. Super System is more of a cash game ideology i think. I'm not even sure of the subtle differences really. The ability to buy back I suppose. And cash game hands tend to be played more post flop which requires more skill..? No-one has ever gone all-in pre-flop with pocket 4s on High Stakes Poker- not that i remember anyway
