    just heard an ad on the radio. The voice doing it was brendan o carroll, i think.

    Anyhu its an advertisement for a crowd call magnet / magnum i think and they offer broadband, Basically they say that normal ISP's give you broadband but you end up sharing your connect with upto forty something other ppl so this slows down your broadband speed.


    Whats the sceal on this. Do BT do this?

    Contention ratio..... yeah, most if not all vendors do this.

    The magnet deal, if its in your area is SWEET!!!! As far as I can recall it is not contended, larger bandwith for cheaper price and you get a load of tv stations too.

    Only problem: Its not in my area!!! :mad: :rolleyes:

    Im on a 20:1 contention ratio. I never hit anything less then my max speed possible which is 242kb/s

    If its cheaper go for it, no harm in it is there. plus. You can always buy it, use it for 14 days, If your not happy, You can be refunded under the distance selling act. As its done over the phone :)

    Handy to know that isnt it :D
