I heard today on the radio that new toshiba laptops have not only a 1 year replace or repair warranty, but if it fails in that year you also get your money back! Now that got me thinking that some unscrupulous individuals might try to buy the laptop, wreck it, get a new laptop and their money back:eek:
This also got me thinking, how would I do it if I was told to wreck a laptop without leaving any evidence.;)

I came up with 2 straight away, obviously first has to be the BOFH soulution.. the rubber mallet? could be tricky to get away with this one.:p

Or I thought for the sure fire win, id cover the air intake with paper etc and set it to strss test the cpu, gpu and mem for 24hrs+

How do you think Id do? In the same hypothetical situation how would you wreck a brand new lappie without leaving a trace.

Or.... if someone pissed you off how would you go about wrecking their desktop, without leaving any physical damage and without resorting to spyware, virii, formatting etc.

Haha.....I was thinking earlier of how I could wreck my laptop discreetly, and I think overclocking the graphics card to double its stock speeds and covering all vents would be a good one...:D

when we had our old 486 with windows 3.1, i made the stupid mistake of installing a game (Doom i think) from the Dos Prompt in windows. That wrecked the OS for sure, however maybe XP can handle this type of madness these days!

You could expose the internals to large amounts of static electricity
