Looking for some help... first a bit of info on my problem

My mother has been unwell looking for the last two yrs and her apperience is gettting worse and i found out a while back that she has stopped taking her medication and that her condition has gotten so bad she will eventually waste away unless she has a simple operation.

Anyway she wont listen to anyone and says she is fine......

If there anyway as her next of kin i can get control over her health to forse her to taken medication or have the operation???

You can't force her to do anything against her will, as kin or carer. You can have her psychiatrically assessed and treated according to needs - it might end up with your mother being (at least temporarily) detained involuntarily under the Mental Health Act 2001.

The first step is to contact your mother's or your own GP to ask for an opinion. If your mother is acting rationally, from a psychiatric point of view (i.e. not depressed, psychotic, demented, etc), then there is little you can do. You could contact community care services to get some home care, respite care or day care - for yourself if not for her, it is frustrating and wearying.
